Skyaid Conditions     updated 10/12/02

There are a great many conditions which must be considered to 
   Example: previously estimated that Skyaid Watch + Skycar would increase
        by up to 65 times (6500%) the chance of surviving a sudden cardiac arrest

Each audience listening about Skyaid will likely be interested in only their condition,
   but individual listeners or readers may be concerned about their 
   parents/loved ones with different conditions.

1) Emergency Medical Services:   select 1 
EMS fast or automatic external defibrillator quickly applied to sudden cardiac arrests
EMS slow (i.e. traffic, victim hard to find, hard to get to (tall building) or does not have AED
     Also - people die of trauma (injury) if EMS is slow.   
      other references to speed is vitally important in trauma
EMS does not exist in region that emergency occurs (rural, water, mountains, etc.)
    example: EMS Delay in India

2) Critical Care Center   select 1
Nearby - likely to get to it within the golden hour for stroke or heart attack
Distant - unlikely to get treatment within the golden hour
Non-existent
     Much better chance of trauma victim surviving at a high volume trauma center. 
     - Stroke Critical Care Centers (=Stroke Unit) save lives  Ref1  Ref2  
        there only 50 Stroke Centers in the US

3) Type of Life-threatening Emergency    1 or more
Stroke 
  - many strokes occur while person remains asleep 
       without a Skyaid Watch there is no possibility of getting to stroke center within golden hour if asleep
  - majority of stroke victims do not call EMS within 2 hours   Ref 2   Wait too long
 - reduce the follow-on death rate from stroke if victim is initially cooled
  - lifetime cost of a stroke in the US is $91,000
Sudden Cardiac Arrest 
  - 40% of SCA are  not called in because victim was alone

4) Emergency rate
Death rate of many emergencies range internationally from 1/3 to + 3X of that in the US
    example: stroke, Sudden Cardiac Arrest in SE Asia, Cardiovascular Disease, auto accident

5) Age     an audience may be interested in a span of ages
    15-24,  25-34, 35-44, 45-54, 55-64, 65-74, 75-84
      The reader/audience may consider Skyaid protection for kids and parents.

6) Quickly call for help: 
Instant: Skyaid Watch which automatically calls for help in case of sudden cardiac arrest or stroke
OK: cell phone or telephone nearby which works
No  = take >30 minutes to get EMS

       (emergencies typically do not happen when you are prepared or where you might like)

1) Actions which individuals or a group can take before Skyaid Watch: 
       Have cell phone
       Convince EMS organization when it is vital to go directly to a regional critical care center
       Arrange that EMS provide cooling while bringing SCA or stroke victim to CCC 
2) Skyaid Watch
        The only way to survive SCD while alone
        Shortens EMS response time by at least 1 minute
        Includes location - essential if emergency occurs on road, forest, water, etc.
        Provides virtually 100% communications coverage, even in rural areas, on boats, inside building, etc
        Stroke: Skyaid Watch will wake a person having a stroke while asleep
        Stroke Skyaid Watch will confirm, thus greatly improve chances of getting to CCC within the golden hour
3) Skyaid Watch + Skyaid
        Deliver automatic external defibrillator within 5 minutes to sudden cardiac arrest
               it costs over $40,000 per life year saved for EMS systems to provide response times of < 5 minutes
               Reducing response time to < 5 minutes would double survival rate of SCD - but is too expensive.
        Quickly get to appropriate Critical Care Center (Trauma, Stroke, Heart, etc.)
        Patient is cooled during transport - significant improvement in survival from both SCA and Stroke.
